Coming Together

As all have noted the liberal press is doing its best to make the Tea Party movement a racist group. This is sad but not a surprise to anyone. What is surprising is more black leaders are deciding to speak out about Obama and the current Congress. Bishop Jackson is taking a stand with "standamerica.us".

In reading Bishop Jackson letter I am reminded of another black leader who said:

Our life begins to end
When we become silent
About things that matter…MLK

Bishop E W Jackson

Dear Friends:

I believe with every fiber of my being that the fate of our nation hangs in the balance. Our country is sliding into socialism, bankruptcy and moral chaos. More than once my wife has turned to me to say, “What are you going to do about it?” I put that same question to you. What are you going to do about it?

I have an answer. Join STAND. We are unifying Americans around the Judeo-Christian principles which can save our country, because they are the principles which built it. Those principles are being lost. It is time to take a STAND, before it is too late!

Men have fought, bled and died under the banner of the Red, White and Blue. Yet we now have a President who thought it appropriate during his campaign to refuse to wear the American Flag lapel pin. Could we actually have a President who is anti-American?

He is certainly proving to be anti-Israel. He has made the settlements in Judea and Samaria the key issue in the Middle East peace negotiations. This is a reversal of past policy and a betrayal of a Presidential understanding with Israel outlined in letters between President Bush to Ariel Sharon in 2004.

Electing Barack Obama as President was one of the worst mistakes in American electoral history. We must correct it at the ballot box in 2010 by voting leftists out of office and in 2012 by voting him out.
If each of us will take a STAND, we will have a network of millions! It will take many of us giving and working together to save our country. We need organizers, issues activists and people with Internet savvy. Tell every friend you know. If we work together we can win this fight before election day ever arrives. Educating and winning the hearts of the American people is the key to defeating the socialists.

The vision of being “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” is nearly lost. We have allowed liberals to balkanize us into racial and ethnic groups. STAND calls on all Americans to stop using hyphenated phrases such as African-American, Irish-America, Italian-American, Jewish-American, Mexican-American or any such construct. Let us call ourselves Americans. My ancestors came from Africa, but I am an American and proud of it.

We are blessed to be citizens of the United States of America, the most prosperous nation in the world. We have more freedom and opportunity than any people in history. Ours is a nation of industry and innovation; of creativity and productivity; of opportunity and prosperity; of decency and generosity; of noble ideals and courageous people; of laws and not of men; and of remarkable ability to correct itself! In our darkest hours, Americans have prayed, fasted and repented and the favor of God has been poured out upon us.

But is this the nation our children are learning about? Is this the nation depicted in our history books? So often we are portrayed as greedy capitalists, racists and exploiters. The truth is that we are a nation of manifest destiny! Many of our citizens feel comfortable blaming America first. We must restore the legacy of “American Exceptionalism” for our children and grandchildren. We do not owe the world an apology. The world owes us a debt of thanks.

We must again celebrate our Judeo-Christian foundations. We must honor rather than denigrate our country; bless it rather than blame it for everything that is wrong in the world. The American History Month which we propose will commemorate the patriotism, sacrifice and wisdom of our Founding Fathers and the many heroes of our nation.

We have been bequeathed a great treasure, and it must be given the honor it deserves. It is time for a rebirth of American faith and freedom. God gave us this country, and by His grace, we must preserve it. Our Founding Fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to establish this nation. We must do the same to keep it. It is time to take a STAND!

God bless you, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.

For God & Country,
E.W. Jackson Sr.

The Way of the Stick

Now is not the time for ease and comfort but time to dare and endure…
W. Churchill

Not such a long time ago, in the shinning city on the hill, there lived a group of men that strode into the darkest corners of the earth. Little about them was known. Few that met them understood them, but they became the leaders wherever they walked on the earth. The important thing that was known was they were men you just didn't want to mess with. They had a big stick. They walked softly. If you crossed them you put your life on the line.

Some of these men believed one thing and others believed something else. It didn't seem to matter who believed what and what each believed they believed with passion. Each stood on those beliefs. Each walked with those beliefs. They bumped into each other, they yelled and argued over the things they believed.
Each day as the sun set, there was something that pulled all back together around the dinner table to share bread and to thank God for their brothers.

There was a knowing and understanding and acceptance that was a bond that existed well beyond differences. Differences sometimes were seen as enriching and everyone added what they could to the dinner pot. To cross one was to cross all. To short change one was to short change all. These soft walking men got their stick and as one came after you.

In that long ago time, their government took care of government matters and these men took care of the Country. Like good stewards, they tended, protected and shaped both the land, their families, and their communities. There was no equivocation. There was no half-heartedness. Things were done with discipline, correctness, and a passion that reflected love and responsibility. Most of the men are gone but there are a few still with us. The few left, with weak voices, telling the stories of how things were and how they can be. With their stories discounted they are discounted, like the rubble of torn down buildings in our intercity. So scattered that no one can imagine the service they provided or to their reach into the sky. Somewhere in the rubble the building's placard is buried so no one can recall the builders, or its time, or its contribution.

Every society through out history has its own evolving history, its stories of the forefathers, values and beliefs the society developed, and passed on. Ours is a young society. Still arrogant, still undisciplined, still impulsive, and as destructive as adolescent boys.

Though older, but like young boys, this Congress and President are arrogant, undisciplined, impulsive, and destructive. Tearing down our laws, discounting our beliefs, reshaping our health care, pitting one group against another, dividing a country of brothers. Being reelected through scheming, conniving, plaquaking, lying, manipulating are tools in this high stake poker game. These tools have worked well for them in our past. Few can remember when Harry and Nancy first came to Congress. If listed, the list would be long with both Dems and Republican incumbents who have WON reelections more than three terms and many six or more terms. To our shame, many applaud and say at each reelection "At-A-Boy".

The corrupting effect of power has been know and written about since the early days of Greece. Once acquired, power is hard not to abuse. What makes this abuse so insidious is because it's always denied. The abuser plays his part, the liberal press plays their part, and we play ours. Our part is to trust, reelect, and feel disappointment. This current group has simply gone farther than previous congresses and their arrogance is so arrogant that it can't be denied or "spun" or hidden. Is their behavior so egregious, this time, that we will actually change our role in this play before it become a tragedy? This country is at a tipping point. This President/Congress wants us to change ourselves as free Americans to fit what their imagined political/social/economic America should be. The Health Bill is where they drew the line. So it will be "They" win and we lose. Or "We" win and they lose. Come November we will take up our big stick and march into the voting booth.

All the mighty nations throughout history have fallen through political suicide. Their suicidal demise always began through government's corruption of national and religious values. This destruction always begins by the discounting of a nations history. The national history say to each new generation who we are, who they are and how we got to where we are. This President in so many ways and in his short time in office has traveled the world discounting who we are by apologizing for America. Armed with a liberal congress this President began discounting each of us, the American people, directly by creating laws that limits our rights and freedoms.

We have not forgotten our heritage. We have not forgotten our values, nor have we forgotten the men and women who built this Nation.

Come November... Come November, get your stick and come with us into the voting booth.

New Tea Party Poll

It would appear from this most current poll, the Tea Party is having an impact with voters and politicians. The beliefs/values the Tea Party holds are ringing a bell that is resonating with folks throughout the country. Good for us.

Given the amount of "stuff" coming in daily through the internet indicates clearly the "Obama type liberals" are getting their dog-and-pony show together. My spam bin is filling up every few days. Fortunately the delete key takes care of these but there is no delete key for the main stream media vignettes of Obama out saving the world, singled handedly, while spending untold amounts of our money.

Read through the polling data. Go to their site and plow through the numbers you'll feel better.

Breaking Poll: Tea Party Matches NRA in Number of Americans Who Support Their Views

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 14, 2010

Media Contact: Peyton Knight at peytonknight@pm-direct.com or (703) 272-1504

Washington, D.C. — It’s official: The tea party movement is a substantial player on the political scene. According to a recent poll commissioned by The O’Leary Report and conducted by Zogby International, 34 percent of voters (45 million Americans) say the Tea Party endorsement is important to their vote this year, and 31 percent (41 million voters) say the same about the National Rifle Association. The Poll was conducted March 2-30 of 10,128 likely voters and has a margin-of-error of one percent.

Breaking down the numbers further, 16 percent of voters are fully committed to the Tea Party message and 18 percent support the message, but with some reservation.

These numbers are strikingly similar to those of the NRA, whose membership has been extremely effective in exacting results at election time. Nearly 13 percent of all voters are completely committed to the NRA message, and 18 percent say they are committed most of the time.

In addition, the 45 million Tea Party supporters found in the poll are strictly registered voters. The movement can add even more to its power and influence by registering like-minded voters between now and November.

(Go to http://www.teapartypolling.com/ to view the full results.)

With power and influence of this magnitude come tough decisions. The decision confronting the Tea Party is whether to become a third party, a la Ross Perot, or become a powerful political force, much like the NRA, which has been able to wield significant influence on both sides of the aisle.

Though the Tea Party movement doesn’t have NRA’s sophisticated infrastructure, it can certainly borrow from NRA’s techniques. For example, the Tea Party could conduct massive voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, and possibly create an issues questionnaire for all political candidates to answer prior to Election Day.

To be sure, the Tea Party can be just as effective in Democratic circles as in Republican, as the Zogby poll shows it isn’t just red-meat conservatives who gravitate toward the movement.

Among the nearly 38 million self-described Independent voters in America, 32 percent will be listening for the voice of the Tea Party before they cast their vote this year. Nearly 64 percent of the 31 million Republican voters will follow the Tea Party, and 11 percent of the roughly 52 million Democratic voters will do the same.

Moreover, in congressional districts deemed competitive by the Cook Political Report, which consist of roughly 34 million voters, 35 percent of them will be listening for the Tea Party endorsement this year. (Click here to view these districts).

The Tea Party’s influence holds up well in key geographic regions as well.

Fully one-third (33 percent) of voters in the Pacific region (20 million voters in CA, AK, HI, OR, NV, WA) will be influenced by Tea Party endorsements. In the pivotal Midwest region (27 million voters in OH, MI, MN, WI, IN, IL) 31 percent of voters plan to listen to the Tea Party.

In the Southwest region (9 million voters in AZ, CO, NM, OK, UT) 32 percent of voters consider the Tea Party endorsement important to them, as do 34 percent of voters in the Mid-Atlantic region (27 million voters in DE, MD, VA, WV, NJ, NY, PA, and D.C.). In the South region (34 million voters in GA, KY, NC, SC, TN, AL, AR, LA, MS, FL, and TX) 36 percent of voters will look to the Tea Party this year, as will 35 percent of voters in the Central and North Plains region (8 million voters in ID, MT, WY, SD, IA, KS, MO, NE, ND).

On the issues, the Tea Partiers are very definitive and unwavering in the positions they take. For example, 90 percent of the Tea Party movement disapproves of cap-and-trade global warming legislation, and 84 percent strongly disapprove.

On taxes, 61 percent of Tea Party activists support state legislation to stop retroactive tax bills from being passed.

Nearly 75 percent agree that there should be an appeals process for individuals who have been placed on the federal no-fly list, in light of legislation making its way through congress that would prohibit persons on the list from purchasing a firearm. A 64 percent majority of Tea Partiers thing that only the FBI should be able to add names to the no-fly list, given the number of instances where people have been wrongly placed on the list.

Only 8 percent of Tea Party members think that the jobs bill being promoted by the Obama administration will help small businesses, and just 19 percent think the bill will help big and state businesses. However, 82 percent think the White House’s jobs bill will help federal employees.

Roughly 89 percent of Tea Partiers believe that the Second Amendment applies to all levels of government – federal, state and local.

And what should be of utmost concern to incumbent congressmen up for re-election this year: 94 percent of the Tea Party movement agree that “the federal government has become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens” – and 82 percent strongly agree.

“Democrats in Congress are afraid of the Tea Parties, alright,” said Brad O’Leary, publisher of The O’Leary Report.

“Though it’s not for reasons of public safety, as their paranoid ramblings would have us all believe. It’s because they know that these poll numbers are correct. Their diatribes about civil unrest are calculated tactics designed to delegitimize a movement that has significant ability to give legitimacy to its chosen candidates this November.”

Brad O’Leary is publisher of The O’Leary Report, a bestselling author, and is a former NBC Westwood One talk radio host. The Zogby Poll was commissioned by The O’Leary Report, conducted March 2-30, and has a margin-of-error of plus-or-minus 1.0%. To see more, go to http://www.teapartypolling.com/)

Tax Season

Mark Steyn (born December 8, 1959) is a Canadian writer, political commentator and cultural critic. He has written five books, including America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It, a New York Times bestseller. Below is his article published in the National Review April 10, 2010.

For an increasing number of Americans, tax season is like baseball season: It’s a spectator sport.

We are nearing the climax of “tax season.” That’s the problem right there, by the way: Summer should have a season, and baseball should have a season, but not tax. Happily, like candy canes and Christmas-tree lights on December 26th, the TurboTax boxes will soon be disappearing from the display racks until the nights start drawing in and the leaves fall from the trees and tax season begins anew in seven or eight months’ time. Our American Catharsis

Victor Davis Hanson (born 1953 in Fowler, California) is a military historian, columnist, political essayist and former classics professor, notable as a scholar of ancient warfare. He has been a commentator on modern warfare and contemporary politics for National Review and other media outlets. Below is an interesting article he posted April 9, 2010.

Will Obama-time be a transitory experience or an enduring tragedy?

For years conservatives have railed about the creeping welfare state. They have tried to tag liberals with being soft on national security, both for courting those who faulted America and for faulting others who courted it. The parameters of all these fights were well known, as talk radio, the blogs, and cable news hourly took up hammer and tongs against the creeping “liberal agenda.” (more)

Hattiesburg Tea Party

The Mississippi Tea Party

A Tax Day Tea Party is planned for noon on Thursday, April 15 in downtown Hattiesburg. The event, first held on April 15 of last year, will be held at Town Square Park and will last from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Among those speaking will be 4th District Republican U.S. Congressional Candidate, Joe Tegerdine, who has been endorsed by the 912 Project Hattiesburg, the event host, as well as the Mississippi Gulf Coast 912 Project and other Tea Party groups in the 4th District. Tegerdine is a conservative who supports and Defends the Constitution.

Dr. Jeffrey Burns, a local orthopedic surgeon, will address the recently passed health care legislation. Chris Newman, a former border security guard, will address the pending amnesty legislation and Pastor Richard Phillips of Faith Arena in Laurel will provide a Christian prospective to the liberal agenda that has taken over our country. David Dearman will talk about the financial implications of government spending and regulation.

“We are calling on every American to join with us in this peaceful protest on April 15 and to unite with Patriotic Americans who are holding events around the country to send a message to Washington that we will not stand by and allow our liberty to be stripped from us by those who have no honor or allegiance to the people of this nation, but who serve their own selfish and idealistic visions of a socialistic utopia that is ruled by an elite class at the expense of the American people. Their attempts to vilify everyone who opposes their radical ideas serves only to confirm their radical agenda.”

While this event is free and is open to the public, donations will be accepted to cover expenses. The 912 Project is made up of political watchdog groups with several hundred thousand members nationwide. They were formed through conservative national talk show host, Glenn Beck’s, ‘We Surround Them’ project with the goal to help bring back accountability in government and work in conjunction with Tea Party groups. Information on this and other upcoming events as well as issues facing our country can be found on the group website at www.912ProjectHattiesburg.com.

MAD as HELL

(The liberal press has been drumming on the idea that Tea Part folks are "far" righter's. Cyndy Miller is speaking right out of the heart of America. After almost 25 years as members we are not renewing our AARP membership also. Neither Obama, congress, or AARP are listening to us, nor do we believe they have our Country's best interest at heart.)

"It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from his government". Thomas Paine

AARP: Membership

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith.

While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse its abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there!

We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces that we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities.

This Presidential Administration scares the living daylights out of us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage. But even more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it requires.

Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into our 'house', invaded our home without our invitation or consent. The President has insisted we keep the perpetrator in comfort and learn the perp language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them.

I DON'T choose to welcome them.

I DON'T choose to support them.

I DON'T choose to educate them.

I DON'T choose to medicate them, pay for their food or clothing.

American home invaders get arrested.

Please explain to me why foreign lawbreakers can enjoy privileges on American soil that Americans do not get?

Why do some immigrants have to play the game to be welcomed and others only have to break & enter to be welcomed?

We travel for a living. Walt hauls horses all over this great country, averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded only ONE supporter of the current administration. One of us is out of touch with mainstream America . Since our poll is conducted without funding, I have more faith in it than one which is power driven.

We have decided to forward this to everyone on our mailing list, and will encourage them to do the same. With several hundred in my address book, I have every faith that the eventual exponential factor will make a credible statement to you.

I am disappointed as hell.

I am scared as hell.

I am MAD as hell, and I'm NOT gonna take it anymore!

PS: Cyndy, Come November, Congress at least, will begin to hear us, AARP is another problem.

Worries from Georgia

(Our goal at The Oxford Tea Party is to post articles written locally as well as what other Tea Party groups are writing, saying, and doing around the country. Below is a article received this morning from the Georgia Tea Party site talking about what could be a major unforeseen fallout from the immigration bill. For fifty years the DEMS have relied on social programs to secure a stable voting block for their party. Without ever questioning the long term consequences of these social programs on their communities, this block of voters have been loyal to the DEMS. It doesn't seem that revenge is what most Tea folks are after come November. However, the worry expressed in this posting from the Georgia Tea Party should give us all pause. )

Think You'll Get Revenge in November? (Georgia Tea Party)

Think again. I think we're watching "Checkmate" in action. Why? Word is that Immigration "Reform" is the Obama Administration's next goal, and that they intend on granting Amnesty to the illegal's living here now. Estimates put that number at about 15-30 million people. Assuming 90% of them would instantly become life-long loyal Democrat voters (And why wouldn't they? They've just been given US citizenship and US Health Care by a Democrat), any massive "backlash" against the Democrats that appears to be developing right now will really only end up likely being more than countered by the massive increase in the total number of loyal Democrat voters that Amnesty will provide.

I hope I'm wrong. Of course, I do not know if Amnesty would mean they could instantly register to vote for the November 2010 elections (2012 almost certainly), or if some other steps would be required by the legislation. But to me, it looks like this is the reason that the Democrats feel absolutely no need to listen to the wishes of the majority of the electorate right now. Simply put; they are not legislating for this current electorate. They are legislating for the electorate-to-come, the one that will exist after Amnesty is granted to 15-30 million new Democrat voters. It's a trump card.

Essentially, this means that 2008 could end up being the last major election that our current electorate (as demographically constituted today) will ever have participated in. Thus, they know that they might never have to answer to this current electorate again. Keep in mind that Obama's victory over McCain was a clear and decisive one. He won 52% to 46%. But the margin was still less than 10 million total votes (69.5 to 59.9 million). With 15-30 million new loyal Democrat voters, it's quite possible that we won't see a GOP majority or President for a very long time, despite the current, wide-spread, and growing surge/anger against the Democrats.

This is very deliberate. And the sequence of Obama's major Agenda items was designed to bring this mega-majority about.

The Stimulus bill had to be first, because it feathers the financial bed for Democrats' re-election campaigns. Then Health Care had to be next, because if they granted Amnesty first, then the Health Care proposal would appear much more expensive than the bill makes it appear right now (without the 15-30 million new citizens). By the way, ( Union ) Card-Check, and Cap and Trade are the other 2 pillars of their plan for cementing lasting Democrat Party majorities and dominance.

Georgia TEA Party

(What a sad situation we find our country in. Come November, God willing, we will start righting the ship. )

Things We Don't Want To Admit

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Thomas Jefferson

Question 1… At what point in time do we stop pointing our fingers at the current Congress saying what bad guys and girls ya'll are? "They" did not vote themselves back in to congress over and over. Obama did not vote himself into office. If not them, well who would have done such a thing?

Historically Americans are not people anyone really wants to mess with. Many countries and their leaders have learned, over time, this lesson the hard way. This time the "messing around" is coming from within, from people we trusted to do the right thing, from people who should be representing our interests along with some sense of responsibility towards us. These people are suppose to be the guardians of our rights and liberties. These people gave us their word and broke it over and over and still we kept reelecting them.

At a Tea Party this past week, what was said by a number of speakers and implied by others was all we really needed to do is get rid of all of these congressional members and put new ones in their place. Once done, this would magically fix problems with our Federal Government. Washington is a thing-unto-itself. Once there, elected representative become ensconced within the most powerful group in the world. This power, no matter how each representative resist, will be corrupted by that power. The corruption will be expressed in their sense of entitlement, arrogance, elitism, and isolation. They, like the ones before, will lose all connection with the people who put them there.

A familiar adage, "Power tends to corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Does this litany sound at all familiar?

The Oxford Tea Party usually doesn't include videos in posted articles. However, the video below address Question 1… Along with other problems this arrogant federal group of representatives, these guardians of our nation, are creating problems for us each time they call the "house" to order. (Condensed course: U.S. Government 101 by Thomas Paine.)

Many of the people we want to replace in Congress are good people, good Americans, who hold views/beliefs that America would be better off as a socialist nation. With government managing most aspects of people's lives. With that said, there were many who sold their vote for what they believed would be personal political gain and security within their party. There is another category this group of Congress people should be placed in other then "good" Americans.

Come November, we "Tea-ers" as a group and other groups of voters will replace many of the arrogant folks in Congress, God willing, but if at that point we step back, if we take two deep breaths, if we take a nap, if we rest on our laurels, if we let one moment pass without reminding them that they work for us, guess what will happen again?

Barrack, Nancy, Harry, and crew have effectively made our children and grandchildren Bond Servants to their notion of a more perfect social union. Shame on them and shame on us.

The Tea Party groups work does not end come November. It needs to start. (Let's call it the New Representative Training Program.) We need to manage our representatives' views of us and make sure every day he/she represents our goals, our beliefs, and our values. They, who ever they turn out to be, have short memories and trouble hearing. So every day we must stay connected …. We need to know their staffer's names. We need their phone numbers, we need their e-mail addresses… We need them to keep us informed on what they are doing. If we have to find the information through Fox News they need to know they are in trouble. We demand to be kept informed on every issue. Every single bill. When and if they begin to "Washington Speak " we start a recall... They will understand a recall… Even the new ones…

Obama

Today, Saturday April 3, 2010, starting at 3PM, there is a Tea Party at the Court House in Tupelo. A few months ago, close to a thousand people came to the first Tupelo Tea Party… Today- Ya'll come on out now. You hear…

Civility is gone along with the idea of tolerance and any form of inclusiveness. Obama is a unique president in that he has effectively divided the people of this Country into groups of "good citizens vs bad citizens" with his wrongheadedness, back door politics, his bribing and threatening elected congressional representatives, his idea of the new social trajectory that he believes will mark his presidency and himself as one of the great leaders of this century and times to come. Truly a myth in the making. Truly the wrong direction for America. Truly a awful election cycle for the DEMS.

Attacks have started in earnest on the Tea Parties…..Some of the attacks are organized and are financed by disguised organizations of the Dems…. Some, simply will be from liberal voters. Recently, Tea Party-Oxford, MS, posted a notice in the local paper of a Tea Party on Saturday, April 17, Avent Park, 10:00 am ….The seventeen "comments" that were posted on the Tea Party - Oxford's Web site was a clear, appalling, and quite fighting examples at how effectively this President's liberalism has demonized any form of freedom in the questioning, discussion, and rejection of Obama's social direction for the country.

There are some black Tea Parties forming. There are more Hispanic and black families showing up at Tea Parties but don't imagine for a moment this will deter the claims that the Tea Parties people are white racists. However, there are some black leaders speaking out. Some are very angry. They well may have a clearer picture of this President and his behavior than the average voter. The video below is of Dr. James David Manning, pastor of ATLAH Worldwide Missionary Church", the former Bethelite Missionary Baptist Church, in Harlem.

The following is an excerpt from an article in the Wall Street Journal by Shelby Steele, a research fellow at Stanford University who happens to be black. Mr. Steele also wrote a best selling book entitled "The Bound Man" about Obama.

"There has always been a narcissistic charge around Mr. Obama, the sense that in embracing him one was embracing something special in oneself—and possibly even a larger idea of human perfectibility. Every politician wants this capacity to attract identification. But it is also a trap. What happens when people are embarrassed for having seen themselves in you?

The old fashioned, big government liberalism that Mr. Obama uses to make himself history-making also alienates him in the center-right America of today. It makes him the most divisive president in memory—a president who elicits narcissistic identification on the one hand and an enraged tea party movement on the other. His health-care victory has renewed his narcissistic charge for the moment, but if he continues to be a 1965 liberal it will become more and more impossible for Americans to see themselves in him.

Mr. Obama's success has always been ephemeral because it was based on an illusion: that if we Americans could transcend race enough to elect a black president, we could transcend all manner of human banalities and be on our way to human perfectibility. A black president would put us in a higher human territory. And yet the poor man we elected to play out this fantasy is now torturing us with his need to reflect our grandiosity back to us.

Many presidents have been historically significant in retrospect, but Mr. Obama had historic significance on his inauguration day. His inauguration told a transcendent American story. Other presidents work forward into their legacy. Mr. Obama is working backwards into his.

Of the two great societal goals—freedom and "the good"—freedom requires a conservatism, a discipline of principles over the good, limited government, and so on. No way to grandiosity here. But today's liberalism is focused on "the good" more than on freedom. And ideas of "the good" are often a license to transgress democratic principles in order to reach social justice or to achieve more equality or to lessen suffering. The great political advantage of modern liberalism is its offer of license on the one hand and moral innocence—if not superiority—on the other. Liberalism lets you force people to buy health insurance and feel morally superior as you do it. Power and innocence at the same time. "

We are beginning to see more Hispanics, such as Mario Rubio, the mayor of San Antonio, and the young black woman who is running in MS first district step into the batters box. Good for them, good for us, and good for the country.

Summer is starting in Oxford with a 85 degree Easter Sunday. Its going to be a long hot summer with only seven months left till the November elections. In November, when the polls close, they will count only one vote at a time. Our outreach this summer to the usually don't vote voter, the fence sitter, the borderline liberal, the aunt that hasn't voted in the last four elections, will be that "one more vote" and that is what it will come down to.
