The Artful Dodgers

Often I find myself sitting at the computer talking to myself. Sooner or later I realize how angry I am with our elected leaders and wondering how is it possible that every voter in the country can't see how destructive they are being.

I am both amazed and appalled when I see polls where close to half the citizens think Obama is doing just fine and they like him. Then I go through a few moments of thinking, "Could they be right and I am so wrong about him and Congress?" "How could I be right and all of them be so wrong about Obama and Congress?" How could each of us look at what we are experiencing under this leadership and not see the danger that the elected have put this country in with the social programs and national debt?

There are a number of things we have in common with our fellow progressive liberal brothers and sisters, the most important one being that we were all raised  by adults who took care of us and the core of that care came from women. We were dependent on adults for our safety and well being. They taught lessons and fixed skinned knees.  This transition from childhood into adulthood took a long time and was full of starts and stops with a lot of backsliding stirred in the pot. Thinking improved along with our behavior and slowly the notion of responsibility worked it way into our lives.

As teenagers we railed against adult authority declaring our independence, not for a moment realizing what all goes with it. For most of their lives many men continue to rail at all authority whether on the job, government, and often still within the  family. Even though they like the safety of a job, family, and government they know in some way their tie to them limits them. Older men recognize this in younger men. They see it as part of maturing. Boundaries need pushing and it the younger men often must do it. There are still mountains that haven't been climbed and horizons that need to be crossed and this is just part of the maturing process in so many males.

Compared to young men who have a really hard time and often a long  time with this transition into young adulthood, young ladies are much more adaptable in the family social caretaking context. This helps them in their home life, work life, and impacts their view of government. Dems preach the gospel of caretaking politics. They attract the young women, single mothers, as well as married women with children with their message of nurturing nannyism. Most importantly it is these women who will raise our next generation and the next leaders of that generation. What they do and how they do it will have unimaginable impact on our nation's future. More often than not these women do the heavy lifting in the Democratic campaigns and often their vote makes a huge difference in the outcome of many elections.

So it will be in the coming election.

How conservatives in general and the Tea Party as the representative of the conservative voice has painted, with such a broad stoke, the social programs that impacts this group and has alarmed so many women particularly the younger women with children and rightly so. This group is especially vulnerable and many in this group are completely dependent on government for their and their children's protection.

Leaders in the Tea Party and conservative citizens have done a poor job informing this powerful group of voters on the conservative principle of limited government. Ever expanding national debt the massive growth of social programs have preoccupied the conservative message that this  important group of women aren't assured they and their children will be safer within a conservative governmental framework. Simply, we in the Tea Party have not spoken with one clear voice to this critical issue. The candidates have not addressed this issue on the national level and if this continues we do this at our peril.

Many of us in the Tea Party are hunters and what we've been taught and know at an instinctive level is, big or small and regardless of the species, you never ever do anything that a mother will construe as threatening to her children.

What women are being told is that conservatives will not protect and support them and that they are seen them as a burden.  True or not they hear this directly from our President and the liberal media. The response to this charge is silence from our candidates and Tea Party members. As long as one ear of corn is grown anywhere is this county we, conservative and the conservative movement, will never let one child go hungry or turn any woman out in the street.   This will never happen. Never… That is who we are and we must not only say but act in a ways that assures women voters if we expect their support.

Personal responsibility is difficult to come by regardless of age or gender… We see this on the news everyday with people, politicians, and sometime us making mistakes and blaming others for it.   How many Tea Party folk have said to you that what is happening today with this president and this congress is my fault? How many say, "I caused this by not taking responsibility as a citizen over many years?" If we can't, as individuals, clearly define who is responsible, what is the problem, who has caused the problems, who must to fix the problems, how can we expect to take control of our government back? This is our responsibility. This is our government and our country. The politicians are paid employees that we replace or rehire ever few years.

This is simply human nature….

It ain't just the liberal Dems who have lost their way….

Good news: The candle is still in the window and it's lighted.  We can still have a government of the people…..for the people… and by the people. The ideal and the goal is not lost. They are in some dark dusty room somewhere in Washington guarded by the always-to-be-reelected-good-old-boys-and girls.

I got this missive in an e-mail and I can't remember from whom at the moment.
However, I did go back and read the link to Mr. Simpson statement.

Alan Simpson,  Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama's deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.

Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana …

"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight.

          1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.

          2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).

3 My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers  in return for votes, thus bankrupting  the system and turning Social  Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff  proud..

          4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67. NOW, you and your commission are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.

          5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills.

           6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again.  Why? Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" on your incompetence. Well, Captain BS, I have a few questions for YOU.

          1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

          2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and  how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?

           3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

          4.  What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain BS, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcases who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes.  That's right, sir.  You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bitch.   Patty

( Simpson was a senator from 1979 to 1997…. Appointed in 2010 to co-chair President Barack Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. )

I have put Patty's letter in this article for a couple of reasons. One of the reasons is simple. Simpson has been in congress forever. His state voters keep on reelecting him. No matter what he does they just reelect him. The contempt he is expressing for the people in his state and across the country is not unique. A person wouldn't have to go through many reelection cycles as a senator or congressman to begin to see the voters as naïve, unread, uninvolved, and irresponsible. After all they keep falling for the same political tricks and rhetoric. Contempt has to follow….

Another reason is that Simpson has a long history and had a hand in what government has done to destroy the core values in this county for over twenty years. It is doubtful if one social program or one bill of any kind limiting Americans' freedom passed without a 'Yea' vote from Simpson while he was in office. Still they reelected him…

No matter what state you live in look at your elected senators and congressmen and see how many times they have been reelected and what their voting records are… With the faintest scratch I think you will find, if not the Simpson kind of contempt, but a disregard and disrespect for the people who put them in office.

And the final reason for the inclusion is my wonder as to why Patty along with the people in Wyoming didn't know some important things about the character of this man. Clearly she was caught off guard by Simpson's pronouncement… How could he have been so clever over the years that she along with many others did not see Simpson for what he is -  a elitist class politician.

How do we as voter measure these guys? If they lived next door to us we would all see right through them. Know what they are about and not have anything to  do with them.

A society without means to detect lies and theft soon squanders liberty and freedom.

They all need to go.  We must find a new team. We are in the final quarter and the country is down over 400 points.

We can accomplish our goals… We started n 2010 getting our 'replacement' feet wet. This one coming up in November is even more important and harder because we must unseat a sitting president.

It took us many election cycles to get to where we are and maybe we can't get all the replacement work done in a couple of cycles. Because we called out so many in 2010 we raised the specter of fear in this elite political class. Still they and the liberal press discount the conservatives.

In this election we must take more congressionals to the woodshed and the president specifically. If we can't accomplish a complete sweep this time the ones left will have a 'Getting right with Jesus' kind of awakening.

We all understand Patty Myers's rage. We all feel it every time we see our President campaigning with lies, false promises, and innuendos.

November offers us a opportunity of a lifetime.

86 days, 9 hours, 27 minutes, and 56 seconds till the polls open.

That's it from the land of all - like in ya’ll come on down to visit us - you hear?
