Worries from Georgia

(Our goal at The Oxford Tea Party is to post articles written locally as well as what other Tea Party groups are writing, saying, and doing around the country. Below is a article received this morning from the Georgia Tea Party site talking about what could be a major unforeseen fallout from the immigration bill. For fifty years the DEMS have relied on social programs to secure a stable voting block for their party. Without ever questioning the long term consequences of these social programs on their communities, this block of voters have been loyal to the DEMS. It doesn't seem that revenge is what most Tea folks are after come November. However, the worry expressed in this posting from the Georgia Tea Party should give us all pause. )

Think You'll Get Revenge in November? (Georgia Tea Party)

Think again. I think we're watching "Checkmate" in action. Why? Word is that Immigration "Reform" is the Obama Administration's next goal, and that they intend on granting Amnesty to the illegal's living here now. Estimates put that number at about 15-30 million people. Assuming 90% of them would instantly become life-long loyal Democrat voters (And why wouldn't they? They've just been given US citizenship and US Health Care by a Democrat), any massive "backlash" against the Democrats that appears to be developing right now will really only end up likely being more than countered by the massive increase in the total number of loyal Democrat voters that Amnesty will provide.

I hope I'm wrong. Of course, I do not know if Amnesty would mean they could instantly register to vote for the November 2010 elections (2012 almost certainly), or if some other steps would be required by the legislation. But to me, it looks like this is the reason that the Democrats feel absolutely no need to listen to the wishes of the majority of the electorate right now. Simply put; they are not legislating for this current electorate. They are legislating for the electorate-to-come, the one that will exist after Amnesty is granted to 15-30 million new Democrat voters. It's a trump card.

Essentially, this means that 2008 could end up being the last major election that our current electorate (as demographically constituted today) will ever have participated in. Thus, they know that they might never have to answer to this current electorate again. Keep in mind that Obama's victory over McCain was a clear and decisive one. He won 52% to 46%. But the margin was still less than 10 million total votes (69.5 to 59.9 million). With 15-30 million new loyal Democrat voters, it's quite possible that we won't see a GOP majority or President for a very long time, despite the current, wide-spread, and growing surge/anger against the Democrats.

This is very deliberate. And the sequence of Obama's major Agenda items was designed to bring this mega-majority about.

The Stimulus bill had to be first, because it feathers the financial bed for Democrats' re-election campaigns. Then Health Care had to be next, because if they granted Amnesty first, then the Health Care proposal would appear much more expensive than the bill makes it appear right now (without the 15-30 million new citizens). By the way, ( Union ) Card-Check, and Cap and Trade are the other 2 pillars of their plan for cementing lasting Democrat Party majorities and dominance.

(What a sad situation we find our country in. Come November, God willing, we will start righting the ship. )

Things We Don't Want To Admit

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Thomas Jefferson

Question 1… At what point in time do we stop pointing our fingers at the current Congress saying what bad guys and girls ya'll are? "They" did not vote themselves back in to congress over and over. Obama did not vote himself into office. If not them, well who would have done such a thing?

Historically Americans are not people anyone really wants to mess with. Many countries and their leaders have learned, over time, this lesson the hard way. This time the "messing around" is coming from within, from people we trusted to do the right thing, from people who should be representing our interests along with some sense of responsibility towards us. These people are suppose to be the guardians of our rights and liberties. These people gave us their word and broke it over and over and still we kept reelecting them.

At a Tea Party this past week, what was said by a number of speakers and implied by others was all we really needed to do is get rid of all of these congressional members and put new ones in their place. Once done, this would magically fix problems with our Federal Government. Washington is a thing-unto-itself. Once there, elected representative become ensconced within the most powerful group in the world. This power, no matter how each representative resist, will be corrupted by that power. The corruption will be expressed in their sense of entitlement, arrogance, elitism, and isolation. They, like the ones before, will lose all connection with the people who put them there.

A familiar adage, "Power tends to corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Does this litany sound at all familiar?

The Oxford Tea Party usually doesn't include videos in posted articles. However, the video below address Question 1… Along with other problems this arrogant federal group of representatives, these guardians of our nation, are creating problems for us each time they call the "house" to order. (Condensed course: U.S. Government 101 by Thomas Paine.)

Many of the people we want to replace in Congress are good people, good Americans, who hold views/beliefs that America would be better off as a socialist nation. With government managing most aspects of people's lives. With that said, there were many who sold their vote for what they believed would be personal political gain and security within their party. There is another category this group of Congress people should be placed in other then "good" Americans.

Come November, we "Tea-ers" as a group and other groups of voters will replace many of the arrogant folks in Congress, God willing, but if at that point we step back, if we take two deep breaths, if we take a nap, if we rest on our laurels, if we let one moment pass without reminding them that they work for us, guess what will happen again?

Barrack, Nancy, Harry, and crew have effectively made our children and grandchildren Bond Servants to their notion of a more perfect social union. Shame on them and shame on us.

The Tea Party groups work does not end come November. It needs to start. (Let's call it the New Representative Training Program.) We need to manage our representatives' views of us and make sure every day he/she represents our goals, our beliefs, and our values. They, who ever they turn out to be, have short memories and trouble hearing. So every day we must stay connected …. We need to know their staffer's names. We need their phone numbers, we need their e-mail addresses… We need them to keep us informed on what they are doing. If we have to find the information through Fox News they need to know they are in trouble. We demand to be kept informed on every issue. Every single bill. When and if they begin to "Washington Speak " we start a recall... They will understand a recall… Even the new ones…

Obama

Today, Saturday April 3, 2010, starting at 3PM, there is a Tea Party at the Court House in Tupelo. A few months ago, close to a thousand people came to the first Tupelo Tea Party… Today- Ya'll come on out now. You hear…

Civility is gone along with the idea of tolerance and any form of inclusiveness. Obama is a unique president in that he has effectively divided the people of this Country into groups of "good citizens vs bad citizens" with his wrongheadedness, back door politics, his bribing and threatening elected congressional representatives, his idea of the new social trajectory that he believes will mark his presidency and himself as one of the great leaders of this century and times to come. Truly a myth in the making. Truly the wrong direction for America. Truly a awful election cycle for the DEMS.

Attacks have started in earnest on the Tea Parties…..Some of the attacks are organized and are financed by disguised organizations of the Dems…. Some, simply will be from liberal voters. Recently, Tea Party-Oxford, MS, posted a notice in the local paper of a Tea Party on Saturday, April 17, Avent Park, 10:00 am ….The seventeen "comments" that were posted on the Tea Party - Oxford's Web site was a clear, appalling, and quite fighting examples at how effectively this President's liberalism has demonized any form of freedom in the questioning, discussion, and rejection of Obama's social direction for the country.

There are some black Tea Parties forming. There are more Hispanic and black families showing up at Tea Parties but don't imagine for a moment this will deter the claims that the Tea Parties people are white racists. However, there are some black leaders speaking out. Some are very angry. They well may have a clearer picture of this President and his behavior than the average voter. The video below is of Dr. James David Manning, pastor of ATLAH Worldwide Missionary Church", the former Bethelite Missionary Baptist Church, in Harlem.

The following is an excerpt from an article in the Wall Street Journal by Shelby Steele, a research fellow at Stanford University who happens to be black. Mr. Steele also wrote a best selling book entitled "The Bound Man" about Obama.

"There has always been a narcissistic charge around Mr. Obama, the sense that in embracing him one was embracing something special in oneself—and possibly even a larger idea of human perfectibility. Every politician wants this capacity to attract identification. But it is also a trap. What happens when people are embarrassed for having seen themselves in you?

The old fashioned, big government liberalism that Mr. Obama uses to make himself history-making also alienates him in the center-right America of today. It makes him the most divisive president in memory—a president who elicits narcissistic identification on the one hand and an enraged tea party movement on the other. His health-care victory has renewed his narcissistic charge for the moment, but if he continues to be a 1965 liberal it will become more and more impossible for Americans to see themselves in him.

Mr. Obama's success has always been ephemeral because it was based on an illusion: that if we Americans could transcend race enough to elect a black president, we could transcend all manner of human banalities and be on our way to human perfectibility. A black president would put us in a higher human territory. And yet the poor man we elected to play out this fantasy is now torturing us with his need to reflect our grandiosity back to us.

Many presidents have been historically significant in retrospect, but Mr. Obama had historic significance on his inauguration day. His inauguration told a transcendent American story. Other presidents work forward into their legacy. Mr. Obama is working backwards into his.

Of the two great societal goals—freedom and "the good"—freedom requires a conservatism, a discipline of principles over the good, limited government, and so on. No way to grandiosity here. But today's liberalism is focused on "the good" more than on freedom. And ideas of "the good" are often a license to transgress democratic principles in order to reach social justice or to achieve more equality or to lessen suffering. The great political advantage of modern liberalism is its offer of license on the one hand and moral innocence—if not superiority—on the other. Liberalism lets you force people to buy health insurance and feel morally superior as you do it. Power and innocence at the same time. "

We are beginning to see more Hispanics, such as Mario Rubio, the mayor of San Antonio, and the young black woman who is running in MS first district step into the batters box. Good for them, good for us, and good for the country.

Summer is starting in Oxford with a 85 degree Easter Sunday. Its going to be a long hot summer with only seven months left till the November elections. In November, when the polls close, they will count only one vote at a time. Our outreach this summer to the usually don't vote voter, the fence sitter, the borderline liberal, the aunt that hasn't voted in the last four elections, will be that "one more vote" and that is what it will come down to.
